An Introduction to Stress (Stress Series Part 1 of 3)

Stress is one of the primary causes of both mental and physical health problems in the lives of everyday individuals. Constant, recurring stress is easily as harmful as even the most well known diseases, known to cause a variety of issues including:

• Difficulty concentrating.
• Trouble focusing on positive events.
• Agitation and anger issues.
• Increased risk of cancer and other serious health problems.
• Reduced immune system making you more prone to illness.
• Heart health problems and weight gain.

Stress can damage you both physically and mentally. Stress can even make it harder to recover after an injury, and may cause other psychological symptoms like depression, anxiety, and in rare cases schizophrenia.

Stress is also self sustaining. The more stress you feel, the more you worry about how it will affect you in the future, and the more stress you endure. Over time, the stress can become not only unbearable, but dangerous to your survival, impacting the way you encounter every event in your life.

Because stress is such a dangerous problem, it is important to utilize effective stress reduction techniques designed specifically to lower both stress and anxiety and treat the symptoms so that stress no longer impacts your life. In the next two posts, I will go over some effective stress reduction techniques and how a trained NLP expert may be exactly what you need to reduce the damage caused by too much stress in your life.
