Effective Ways to Deal with Stress (Stress Series Part 2 of 3)

In my last post, I discussed how stress can be extremely debilitating to both your mind and body. It can cause health problems and psychological problems, and when it is left untreated, these issues can only be exacerbated by the way stress manages to propagate itself.

Today, we will look at 3 effective ways to reduce stress in your life, and why these methods will help benefit you.

1) Write Down Your Thoughts
One of the easiest ways to reduce stress is to simply write down the things that are bothering you. Our minds have a tendency to focus on things when it is worried that these thoughts will not be remembered. By writing down not only your thoughts, but also what you would like to say about them to the person that caused those thoughts, you can take those stressful feelings out of your mind and place them on a permanent piece of paper. This is especially useful if you try it before going to sleep, as it helps clear out your mind to make resting easier.

2) Exercise
Being active is a great way to reduce stress. By using up the energy created by the stressful situations, your body is able to feel more relaxed. In addition exercise releases endorphins – a “feel good” neurotransmitter that improves your mood. Exercise can also help you feel better about yourself, which will improve your overall life outlook and stop stress from having as harmful an effect on you.

3) NLP/Hypnosis
Another time proven method of reducing stress is with Hypnosis. Hypnosis has long been a form of stress reduction because it allows you to explore the deeper levels of your mind in order to alter the way you perceive situations. In the next post, I will show how hypnosis has been used to reduce the effects of stress on your mind and body.
